The one thing people would unanimously say about Daisuke Tsuruyaba is that he's weird. Some people find his weirdness enchanting and others think he's just a freak and tend to stay away when they spot him around Hope City. He's had plenty of time to build this reputation, having grown up in the city for all of his twenty-one years; his parents are well-to-do businesspersons from Japan, working in the Hope City branch of their company. It's one of the few companies left with any kind of reputation, though it's had its share of scandals in the past, and that's what allows his parents to bring in a substantial amount of money -- none of which he has any right to. He parents always bug him to "GO COLLEGE BE DOKTAH," but he has much more artistic endeavors in mind. Dais really wants to be a graphic artist, and is attending Central College for just that reason. All throughout high school, he had hidden his love for the arts from his parents, though it was difficult to hear them telling their friends all about what kind of brilliant brain surgeon he would become -- when he got into Central and took on the major of Graphic Design, his parents told him that he would be cut off from their money until he changed his mind. Since then, Daisuke has been more hard-working than ever, and happier than ever. His parents never really knew about his powers; any "accident" he had with them discharging and blowing a light they chalked up to shoddy American craftsmanship. Whether they were truly ignorant or just willfully so, Daisuke never knew. He has no qualms using his powers, though he doesn't always find a very productive way to do so; it's useful when he's too lazy to turn on a light, but aside from fighting, it's rather pointless. But he doesn't have an issue fighting, so it's a good thing he joined up with the superhero team.
Friends are pretty easy for Dais to come across; he has a bubbly, upbeat personality, and he's perfectly willing to reach out to others to strike up a conversation. He likes to see the good in people, though he knows it's not always there -- maybe that's why he enjoys being friendly and polite to everyone, as a chance to show them that not everything is bad in Hope City. He likes a number of different people and personalities; he isn't quick to dismiss any one person because they might be having a bad day, and tends to give second chances except for extreme cases. But anyone who wants to be his friend has to put up with his high levels of energy and tendencies to play around loudly and very physically. Enemies are just as easy to come by because of Dais' rather wackadoo way of behaving. People find him annoying, or loud, or sometimes just want to pick fights. If someone is his enemy, then they had better be ready to throw down. Daisuke isn't afraid of being physical, and would totally use his powers if the situation called for it. He's not for a particular "side," even though he's on a team of the Good Guys. He is kind of self-serving, and likes going out to fight when he's bored. So anyone he's fought and beaten up before, or anyone who doesn't like what a neutral stance of things he has, they would make good enemies. Especially since Dais is very apolitical and doesn't give a shit about the government, beyond the corrupt fuckers in office in Hope City -- those guys, he hopes get a taste of their own medicine. Or something. Lovers might be a liiiittle bit more complicated. Daisuke doesn't have girls (or boys, occasionally!) on the forefront of his mind, because he likes to focus on his studies. He likes to appreciate girls, but actually pursuing them a lot of the time seems like too much effort; between pleasing his parents, working, his studies, and fighting crime like a boss, he doesn't have the time or energy to keep up with girls. So if he were to find a partner, he or she would really have to be supportive of his late night activities, and would have to know when to give him some space to work on what he needs to. For a successful relationship, of course! It's not unheard of for Dais to have a relationshit once in a while as well.
So that's Daisuke! Those are the things that you need to know, so find something super awesome and creative for our characters to do! ♥
